On August 18th,1995, China Orient and Lockheed Martin Corporation of  America signed the purchasing contract of "ChinaStar-1" satellite and Satellite Control Facility.
 

    On August 28th, 1996, the  TT&C Station of China Orient was laid its foundation at Dongbeiwang , Haidian District , Beijing .
 

    On May 8th , 1997, China Orient and China Satellite Launch and Tracking Control General signed the contract of launching service for "ChinaStar-1" satellite.
 

    On June 18th , 1997, China Orient and China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology signed the contract of purchasing Launch Vehicle.
 

    On May 8th , 1998, China Orient and the People's Insurance(Property) Company of China,Ltd signed the insurance agreement for launching "ChinaStar-1" satellite .
 

    At 18:00 on May 30th, 1998, "ChinaStar-1" was launched successfully by Long March-3B in Xichang Satellite Launch Center.
 

    At 20:30 on June 16 , 1998, "ChinaStar-1" was located successfully at 87.5°E in geosynchronous orbit as designated.
 

    On July 30, 1998,"ChinaStar-1" Satellite was put into service on schedule.
 

    By the end of September 1998, 50% of total transponders of "ChinaStar-1" satellite had been leased, which marks China Orient has completely transferred into service and operation after implementing the tasks of investment.
